Terms and Conditions

Booking Conditions

1. General

These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings and travel arrangements made with Trip Sri Lanka (hereafter referred to as “the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing our website (tripsrilanka.lk) or making a booking via written communication, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and fully accept these terms. All information provided to us must be true and accurate.

2. The Holiday Contract

A binding contract is formed once:

  1. You have provided a written or online confirmation of your itinerary.

  2. You have paid the required deposit or total amount due.

  3. We have issued a formal booking confirmation receipt.

All contracts are governed by the existing laws of Australia and Sri Lanka, depending on the jurisdiction of the specific service provided.

3. Payment Policy

All prices are quoted in AUD (unless otherwise stated).

  • Payment Methods: We accept Bank Transfers and Credit Card payments (Visa/MasterCard) via secure gateways.

  • Bank Charges: All additional bank fees or transaction charges related to the transfer are to be borne by the client.

  • Payment Schedule:

    • Bookings made > 45 days before arrival: A minimum 25% deposit is required to secure the booking. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 days prior to arrival.

    • Bookings made < 45 days before arrival: Full payment is required at the time of booking.

4. Amendments & Cancellations by You

Cancellations must be submitted in writing. Because we pre-book boutique accommodations and private logistics, the following charges apply:

  • 30 to 45 Days before arrival: 25% of the total tour cost is charged.

  • 14 to 29 Days before arrival: 50% of the total tour cost is charged.

  • 8 to 13 Days before arrival: 75% of the total tour cost is charged.

  • Less than 7 days/No Show: 100% of the total tour cost (no refund).

Special Periods: Bookings for the “Peak Period” (December 20th – January 10th) are generally non-refundable once confirmed.

5. Cancellation by Us

While we strive to provide all services as confirmed, we reserve the right to cancel a tour due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control (Force Majeure). In such cases, we will offer an alternative tour of comparable quality or a full refund of monies paid. We are not liable for incidental expenses such as international flight cancellation fees.

6. Our Liabilities & Limitations

  • Itineraries: All itineraries are samples. We reserve the right to modify routes or schedules due to weather, road conditions, or participant safety.

  • Third Parties: We act as an agent for hotels, transport providers, and activity operators. We are not liable for injury, loss, or damage to person or property resulting from accidents, strikes, civil disturbances, or “Acts of God.”

  • Personal Property: Baggage and personal effects remain at the owner’s risk at all times.

7. Health, Passports & Visas

It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they hold a valid passport (minimum 6 months validity), the correct Visa (ETA for Sri Lanka), and any required medical inoculations. We are not responsible for entry being denied due to incorrect documentation.

8. Travel Insurance

Mandatory Requirement: We strongly recommend that all travelers take out comprehensive personal travel insurance at the time of booking. This should cover cancellation, medical expenses, personal accident, and theft.

9. Behavior & Compliance

We reserve the right to terminate the tour of any traveler whose behavior is deemed disruptive, dangerous, or distressing to other guests or our staff. In such cases, no refund will be provided.

10. Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any service, you must immediately notify your Chauffeur-Guide or our 24/7 support line to allow us to rectify the matter on the spot. If the issue remains unresolved, a formal written complaint must be submitted within 28 days of the tour’s completion.

11. Force Majeure

Trip Sri Lanka shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations if such failure is the result of Acts of God (including fire, flood, earthquake, storm, hurricane, or other natural disasters), war, invasion, act of foreign enemies, hostilities, civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power, or confiscation, terrorist activities, nationalization, government sanction, or strike.
